Ok heres my build

1. Tigers Fury
2. Eviscerate (Elite)
3. Axe Rake
4. (Spirit of Choice here)
5. IWAY
6. Charm animal
7. Sprint or warriors cunning
8. Res Signet

Weapon: Zealous pvp axe (whatever)

If u run sword or hammer u most likely get ur ass kicked off the group, stick to these skills and u will be fine, oh and get 16 Axe mastery!

you should also have these skills
disrupting chop
distracting blow

at least one of them, preferably both. since your team doesn't have shutdown, you have to rely on brute force disruption. it's especially crucial to break aegis chains : relying on warriors cunning to break through aegis isn't something i would especially rely on. if there's a warrior with 2 disrupts chopping at each spellcaster it's a pretty good chance you can stop them getting off the truly deadly spells.

spec barbed trap as well if you're carrying a wilderness type spirit. barbed trap is your only real chance at a protective snare for your necro(s) and it's great for popping one into the middle of a healing ball.

enter tombs. beat the unworthy. the first team you meet will most likely be an iway team. some obvious signs: 6 pets, names like "IWAY OWNS YOU", and a general lack of intelligence on the other team.

IWAY is a way of sacrificing a whole team and their pets for the ego of a few warriors who want to feel like teh ownz.

It is annoying because it's so prevalent that every team will have to take skills that are good against it, and are weaker against other teams as a result.

Example: More anti-IWAY skills = less anti-Ranger-Spike skills = less balanced groups

You are not proving anything by being IWAY; you will not get further than the 3rd round. But you will have others bring along skills that are otherwise best left off their bar.

It's also one of the main reason rank and fame doesn't mean anything. An IWAY team will be able to kill most uncoordinated pick-up groups, and as such accumulate rank. Uncoordinated pick-up group members, while loosing, are actually learning about the game, and they are getting better every game. But they are not gaining any rank for it. IWAY players are not learning anything, but they do gain rank. That's justice for you!

Amazing that my IWAY variation group wins halls almost daily, seeing as you won't make it past the third round right? So we also shouldn't be able to hold 4-7 times either?

As for those of you who think rank/fame means nothing anymore, how many of you used spirit spamming/smite/FOC/Flare/Sacrificing/rangerspike/trapper etc etc etc to gain your fame? Those builds are all just as bad as IWAY.

I will admit most IWAY users are pug groups and most suck, BUT that doesn't mean a team using some sort of IWAY is NUB. We only run 4 W/R and have never lost to another IWAY group let alone most other FOTM builds. Actually 95% of our losses come in the hall, and mainly because of holding groups. Of course we're the only guild running our build and I'm sure that plays in. We of course have to bring spells to counter certain teams IE trappers wich IMO are lamer than IWAY. Thats pretty much prevalent in any team. You see who's holding halls, what they are running, and you adjust your build to suit.

Grow up and quit flaming every person that posts asking about IWAY. I'm sick of seeing all these people who think they are such L33T pvpers crying daily across every board on the net. We get the point...... You don't like IWAY.

Everyone has to start somewhere. IWAY is a good way for new players to get into tombs, see the maps, learn the strategies for them and become the future rank 9 pvpers that take our places. What's wrong are you guys scared of a little rank competition?

See you all in the hall

People really have to search up for these things instead of posting it up again...and again...and again... and....

again.

and again.

Search can be your friend.

First of all, I'm not flaming anyone. I'm telling honestly what IWAY is from my perspective.

You are not giving any answers as to why rank farmed by IWAYs doesn't break the rank system. No, I've never used any FotM, and for such have low rank. Not because I'm a bad player, mind you. My build is very sound (if a little weird), and most people don't want to try playing with a Water Ele, so I get left off good groups and have been playing with PUGs. I have been playing very efficiently on the few occasions Guild Groups wanted me. But I do not get rank. Why? Because I'm not FotM.

Don't get me wrong; I hate Ranger Spikes just as well, but they at least require some coordination.

And I was generalizing, when I was telling about not going past 3rd round. I was generalizing because for the person not even knowing what IWAY is, it's very improbable that he will ever get past 3rd round with it.

No, see you're wrong there. You say it's a good place to start, well it's the shi&&&&& place to start. They see they can farm fame off of newbie groups so they do it some more. WHAT DO THEY LEARN? To let their pet die and then press one button? I don't call that a good place to start.

IWAY doesn't break the rank system for the same reasons other FOTM builds don't break it. Winning is winning no matter what. While you say the teams losing to IWAY are learning, I see it the other way around. While the losing team may be learning counters to IWAY. The winning teams are learning the maps, Learning the strategies involved with each of the massively run builds in halls, learning the current builds being played, learning how to read builds by the characters involved, etc. I think it's fair to say both sides learn from it.

It's quite true most pickup groups don't get very far, wich is why ya should really try to find a steady group. As far as water ele's are concerned, you got yourself the next big ELE build going there. Water ele's after the recent buffing are really great to have around.

Don't get me wrong we don't always run our variation. We have a few balanced builds we run as well as a massive degen build but, for general pickup and ease of use, we run our 4 man IWAY most often. Theres just something fun in rolling over trash talking jerks in tombs when they think they know what your running only to find out they have no clue.
